Wastewater sequencing reveals early cryptic SARS-CoV-2 variant transmission

Smruthi Karthikeyan, +117 more
- 07 Jul 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , a scalable solution for wastewater genomic surveillance that allows early detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants and identification of cryptic transmission was proposed, in the controlled environment of a large university campus and the broader context of the surrounding county.
Journal ArticleDOI

The molecular epidemiology of multiple zoonotic origins of SARS-CoV-2

TL;DR: Analysis of the genomic diversity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) early in the coronav virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic indicates that it is unlikely that SARS- covirus-2 circulated widely in humans prior to November 2019 and defines the narrow window between when Sars-Cov-2 first jumped into humans and when the first cases of CO VID-19 were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

The ViReflow pipeline enables user friendly large scale viral consensus genome reconstruction

TL;DR: ViReflow as discussed by the authors is a user-friendly consensus sequence reconstruction pipeline enabling rapid analysis of viral sequence datasets leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud compute resources and the Reflow system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accelerators for Classical Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Biomolecules

TL;DR: The goal is to summarize the fundamental algorithms that are employed in the literature to then highlight the challenges that have affected accelerator implementations in practice, and provide insights into the potential of emerging hardware platforms and algorithms for MD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Safer at school early alert: an observational study of wastewater and surface monitoring to detect COVID-19 in elementary schools

TL;DR: In this article , the effectiveness and accuracy of community-based passive wastewater and surface (environmental) surveillance to detect SARS-CoV-2 infection in neighborhood schools compared to weekly diagnostic (PCR) testing was evaluated.
