TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated SARS-CoV-2 pathobiology by characterizing the immune response in the alveoli of patients infected with the virus, and they collected bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples from 88 patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV2)induced respiratory failure and 211 patients with known or suspected pneumonia from other pathogens, and analyzed them using flow cytometry and bulk transcriptomic profiling.

TL;DR: In this paper, a healthy reference multi-omics single cell data set from children (n=30) was generated and compared with equivalent data from severe paediatric and adult COVID-19 patients (total n=27), from the same three types of samples: upper and lower airways and blood.
