Journal ArticleDOI

Circuits between infected macrophages and T cells in SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated SARS-CoV-2 pathobiology by characterizing the immune response in the alveoli of patients infected with the virus, and they collected bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples from 88 patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV2)induced respiratory failure and 211 patients with known or suspected pneumonia from other pathogens, and analyzed them using flow cytometry and bulk transcriptomic profiling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Muramyl peptides. Variation of somnogenic activity with structure.

TL;DR: It is shown that some analogs of MDP possess immunostimulatory and pyrogenic activity but not somnogenic activity, thus suggesting that these biological activities of muramyl peptides may, in part, be mediated by separate mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Feasibility of Venovenous Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Without Systemic Anticoagulation.

TL;DR: The results suggest that VV-ECMO can be safely administered without continuous systemic anticoagulation for patients with ARDS, and may be associated with reduced bleeding diathesis and need for blood transfusions.
