Long-Term Exposure to Source-Specific Fine Particles and Mortality—A Pooled Analysis of 14 European Cohorts within the ELAPSE Project
Jie Chen,Gerard Hoek,Kees de Hoogh,Sophia Rodopoulou,Zorana Jovanovic Andersen,Tom Bellander,Jørgen Brandt,Daniela Fecht,Francesco Forastiere,John S. Gulliver,Ole Hertel,Barbara Hoffmann,Ulla Arthur Hvidtfeldt,W. M. Thurston +41 more
TL;DR: In this paper , Cox proportional hazard models were applied to estimate mortality hazard ratios (HRs) for source-specific fine particles (PM2.5) identified through a source apportionment analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Residential road traffic noise exposure and colorectal cancer survival - A Danish cohort study
Nina Roswall,Pernille Envold Bidstrup,Ole Raaschou-Nielsen,Steen Solvang Jensen,Kim Overvad,Jytte Halkjær,Mette Sørensen +6 more
TL;DR: No overall association between residential road traffic noise and concurrent mortality in CRC patients is suggested, as this is the first study of its kind, with relatively limited power, and further studies are warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lifestyle, Environmental, and Genetic Predictors of Bulky DNA Adducts in a Study Population Nested within a Prospective Danish Cohort
Kirsten Thorup Eriksen,Mette Sørensen,Herman Autrup,Ulla Vogel,Kim Overvad,Anne Tjønneland,Steffen Loft,Ole Raaschou-Nielsen +7 more
TL;DR: Overall, this study showed only few associations between dietary, environmental, and genetic factors and levels of bulky DNA adducts measured in peripheral leukocytes in a general Danish population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Level of education and the risk of lymphoma in the European prospective investigation into cancer and nutrition
Silke Hermann,Sabine Rohrmann,Jakob Linseisen,Alexandra Nieters,Aneire E. Khan,Valentina Gallo,Kim Overvad,Anne Tjønneland,Ole Raaschou-Nielsen,Manuela M. Bergmann,Heiner Boeing,Nikolaus Becker,Rudolf Kaaks,H. Bas Bueno-de-Mesquita,Anne M. May,Roel Vermeulen,Sheila Bingham,Kay-Tee Khaw,Timothy J. Key,Ruth C. TL;DR: An overall consistent association of education and risk of HL or NHL was not confirmed in this large prospective study; although, education was positively related to the incidence of BCLL and B-NHL but inversely to incidence of DLBCL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of spatio-temporal cancer clusters using residential histories in a case–control study of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the United States
Rikke Baastrup Nordsborg,Chantel D. Sloan,Chantel D. Sloan,Haseeb Shahid,Geoffrey M. Jacquez,Anneclaire J. De Roos,James R. Cerhan,Wendy Cozen,Richard K. Severson,Mary H. Ward,Lindsay M. Morton,Ole Raaschou-Nielsen,Jaymie R. Meliker +12 more
TL;DR: Novel methods for cluster detection allowing for residential mobility, called Q-statistics, were used to quantify nearest neighbor relationships through space and time over the life course to identify cancer clusters.
