Léo Berline,Ioanna Siokou-Frangou,Ivona Marasović,Olja Vidjak,Ma Luz Fernandez De Puelles,Maria Grazia Mazzocchi,Georgia Assimakopoulou,Soultana Zervoudaki,S. Fonda-Umani,Alessandra Conversi,Carmen García-Comas,Frédéric Ibanez,Stéphane Gasparini,Lars Stemmann,Gabriel Gorsky +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed and compared Mediterranean mesozooplankton time series spanning 1957-2006 from six coastal stations in the Balearic, Ligurian, Tyrrhenian, North and Middle Adriatic and Aegean Sea.
Journal ArticleDOI
Non-indigenous species refined national baseline inventories: A synthesis in the context of the European Union's Marine Strategy Framework Directive
Konstantinos Tsiamis,Andreas Palialexis,Kremena Stefanova,Živana Ničević Gladan,Sanda Skejić,Marija Despalatović,Ivan Cvitković,Branko Dragičević,Jakov Dulčić,Olja Vidjak,Natalia Bojanić,Ante Žuljević,Marilena Aplikioti,Marina Argyrou,Marios Josephides,Nikolas Michailidis,Hans Henrik Jakobsen,Peter A. Barry,Paul Stebbing,Ana Cristina Cardoso +52 more
TL;DR: The analysis revealed that a large number of NIS was not reported from the initial assessments, and several NIS initially listed are currently considered as native in Europe or were proven to be historical misreportings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seasonal variability in Dinophysis spp. abundances and diarrhetic shellfish poisoning outbreaks along the eastern Adriatic coast
Živana Ninčević-Gladan,Sanda Skejić,Mia Bužančić,Ivona Marasović,Jasna Arapov,Ivana Ujević,Natalia Bojanić,Branka Grbec,Grozdan Kušpilić,Olja Vidjak +9 more
TL;DR: Annual dynamics and ecological characteristics of the genus Dinophysis spp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differential ingestion of zooplankton by four species of bivalves (Mollusca) in the Mali Ston Bay, Croatia
Melita Peharda,Daria Ezgeta-Balić,John Davenport,Natalia Bojanić,Olja Vidjak,Živana Ninčević-Gladan +5 more
TL;DR: Results confirmed carnivory in bivalves, both from natural and cultured populations, but cultured species had higher numbers of zooplankters than those living on the seabed, and show that mussels impact the availability of natural spat.
Journal ArticleDOI
Annual variability and trophic relations of the mesozooplankton community in the eutrophicated coastal area (Vranjic Basin, eastern Adriatic Sea)
Olja Vidjak,Natalia Bojanić,Grozdan Kušpilić,Ivona Marasović,Živana Ninčević Gladan,Igor Brautović +5 more
TL;DR: Significant correlation determined between Acartia clausi and oligotrich ciliates indicates predator–prey relationship and the importance of the ciliate community in the energy transfer through the trophic web of this area.
