Will,Isaac Yaniv,Christiane Vermylen,Nunzia Tannoia,Federico Garnier,Irina Ionescu,Mark C. Walters,Bertram H. Lubin,Eliane Gluckman +29 more
TL;DR: Analysis of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation from HLA-identical siblings for thalassemia and sickle cell disease found related CBT for hemoglobinopathies offers a good probability of success and is associated with a low risk of GVHD.
Journal ArticleDOI
One-Unit versus Two-Unit Cord-Blood Transplantation for Hematologic Cancers
John E. Wagner,Mary Eapen,Shelly L. Carter,Yanli Wang,Kirk R. Schultz,Donna A. Wall,Nancy Bunin,Colleen Delaney,Paul R. Haut,David A. Margolis,Edward Peres,Michael R. Verneris,Mark C. Walters,Mary M. Horowitz,Joanne Kurtzberg +14 more
TL;DR: It is found that among children and adolescents with hematologic cancer, survival rates were similar after single-unit and double-unit cord-blood transplantation; however, a single- unit cord- blood transplant was associated with better platelet recovery and a lower risk of GVHD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomized clinical trial of therapeutic music video intervention for resilience outcomes in adolescents/young adults undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant: A report from the Children's Oncology Group
Sheri L. Robb,Debra S. Burns,Kristin Stegenga,Paul R. Haut,Patrick O. Monahan,Jane L. Meza,Timothy E. Stump,Brooke Cherven,Sharron L. Docherty,Verna L. Hendricks-Ferguson,Eileen K. Kintner,Ann E. Haight,Donna A. Wall,Joan E. Haase +13 more

Treatment of High-Risk Neuroblastoma With Triple-Tandem High-Dose Therapy and Stem-Cell Rescue: Results of the Chicago Pilot II Study
Morris Kletzel,Howard M. Katzenstein,Paul R. Haut,Alice L. Yu,Elaine R. Morgan,Marleta Reynolds,Grant Geissler,Maryanne H. Marymount,Dachao Liu,John A. Kalapurakal,Richard M. Shore,Diana M.E. Bardo,Jennifer Schmoldt,Alfred Rademaker,Susan L. Cohn +14 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that it is feasible to intensify consolidation with triple-tandem high-dose chemotherapy and peripheral-blood stem-cell rescue and local irradiation, and suggested that this treatment strategy may lead to improved survival for patients with high-risk neuroblastoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Howard M. Katzenstein,Susan L. Cohn,Richard M. Shore,Dianna M.E. Bardo,Paul R. Haut,Marie Olszewski,Jennifer Schmoldt,Dachao Liu,Alfred W. Rademaker,Morris Kletzel +9 more
TL;DR: MIBG scores >/= 3 following induction therapy identifies a subset of NB patients who are likely to relapse following three cycles of high-dose therapy with peripheral blood stem-cell rescue, local radiotherapy, and 13-cis-retinoic acid.
