Investigation of phonon coherence and backscattering using silicon nanomeshes
Jaeho Lee,Woochul Lee,Woochul Lee,Geoff Wehmeyer,Scott Dhuey,Deirdre L. Olynick,Stefano Cabrini,Chris Dames,Jeffrey J. Urban,Peidong Yang +9 more
TL;DR: Phonon coherence is unimportant for thermal transport in silicon nanomeshes with periodicities of 100 nm and higher and temperatures above 14 K, and phonon backscattering, as manifested in the classical size effect, is responsible for the thermal conductivity reduction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Excited-state vibrational dynamics toward the polaron in methylammonium lead iodide perovskite
Myeongkee Park,Myeongkee Park,Amanda Neukirch,Sebastian E. Reyes-Lillo,Sebastian E. Reyes-Lillo,Sebastian E. Reyes-Lillo,Minliang Lai,Scott R. Ellis,D. Dietze,Jeffrey B. Neaton,Jeffrey B. Neaton,Peidong Yang,Sergei Tretiak,Richard A. Mathies +13 more
TL;DR: The polaron formation via nuclear dynamics that may be important for efficient charge separation is revealed and elucidating electron-phonon coupling in hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites may help to understand the high photovoltaic efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytoprotective metal-organic frameworks for anaerobic bacteria.
TL;DR: This work uniformly wrap Morella thermoacetica bacteria with a metal-organic framework (MOF) monolayer of nanometer thickness for cytoprotection in artificial photosynthesis, which significantly enhances the lifetime of anaerobes in the presence of O2, and maintains the continuous production of acetic acid from CO2.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-Performance Pt─Co Nanoframes for Fuel-Cell Electrocatalysis
Shouping Chen,Mufan Li,Mengyu Gao,Jianbo Jin,Matthijs A. van Spronsen,Miquel Salmeron,Peidong Yang +6 more
TL;DR: This work provides an effective strategy to produce high-performance Pt-Co nanoframes for fuel-cell-related applications and indicates that the weakened binding of intermediate carbonaceous poison contributes to the enhanced MOR activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural, optical, and electrical properties of phase-controlled cesium lead iodide nanowires
Minliang Lai,Qiao Kong,Connor G. Bischak,Yi Yu,Yi Yu,Letian Dou,Letian Dou,Samuel W. Eaton,Naomi S. Ginsberg,Naomi S. Ginsberg,Peidong Yang,Peidong Yang +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, a systematic study of the phase transition of one-dimensional CsPbI3 nanowires and their corresponding structural, optical, and electrical properties is presented.
