Exploring Cosmic Origins with CORE: Extragalactic sources in Cosmic Microwave Background maps

G. de Zotti, +123 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the potential of a next generation space-borne Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) experiment for studies of extragalactic sources, which has particular bearing on the definition of the future space project, CORE, that has been submitted in response to ESA's call for a Medium-size mission opportunity as the successor of the Planck satellite.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Overview of the SPTpol Experiment

TL;DR: In 2012, the South Pole Telescope (SPT) will begin a 625 deg2 survey to measure the polarization anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background (CMB).

Site testing for submillimetre astronomy at Dome C, Antarctica

TL;DR: In this paper, the sky opacity at 200 μm at the French-Italian station, Concordia, at Dome C, Antarctica was measured with a tipper and compared with satellite measurements from the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) on Metop-A, with balloon humidity sondes and with results obtained by a ground-based microwave radiometer (HAMSTRAD).
