TL;DR: It is shown that gene breakage commonly inactivates the tumour suppressors RB1, NF1, RAD51B and PTEN in HGSC, and contributes to acquired chemotherapy resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
IL6-STAT3-HIF Signaling and Therapeutic Response to the Angiogenesis Inhibitor Sunitinib in Ovarian Clear Cell Cancer
Michael S. Anglesio,Joshy George,Hagen Kulbe,Michael Friedlander,Danny Rischin,Charlotte Lemech,Jeremy Power,Jermaine Coward,Prue A. Cowin,Colin M. House,Probir Chakravarty,Kylie L. Gorringe,Ian G. TL;DR: It is suggested that more extensive clinical trials with sunitinib in OCCA are warranted, and significant impetus is provided to the growing realization that O CCA is molecularly and clinically distinct to other forms of ovarian cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Deregulation of MYCN, LIN28B and LET7 in a Molecular Subtype of Aggressive High-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancers

TL;DR: This work defines for the first time how elements of an oncogenic pathway, involving multiple genes that contribute to stem cell renewal, is specifically altered in a molecular subtype of serous ovarian cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of human prostate tissue from embryonic stem cells.
Renea A. Taylor,Renea A. Taylor,Prue A. Cowin,Gerald R. Cunha,Martin F. Pera,Alan O Trounson,John Pedersen,Gail P. Risbridger +7 more
TL;DR: This human prostate model shows species-conserved signalling mechanisms that could extend to integumental, gastrointestinal and genital tissues and generated human prostate tissue expressing prostate-specific antigen (PSA) within 8–12 weeks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inferring copy number and genotype in tumour exome data
Kaushalya C. Amarasinghe,Jason Li,Jason Li,Sally M Hunter,Georgina L Ryland,Prue A. Cowin,Ian G. Campbell,Ian G. Campbell,Saman K. Halgamuge +8 more
TL;DR: The proposed method, ADTEx, uses both depth of coverage ratios and B allele frequencies calculated from whole exome sequencing data, to predict copy number variations along with their genotypes, and outperformed its competitors in terms of precision and F-measure.
