Pan-STARRS Pixel Processing: Detrending, Warping, Stacking

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the image detrending steps used as part of the processing of the data contained within the public release of the Pan-STARRS1 Data Release 1 (DR1), in addition to the methods used to transform the 375,573 individual exposures into a common sky-oriented grid, as well as those used to produce both the image stack and difference combination products.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Pan-STARRS Data Processing System

TL;DR: The Image Processing Pipeline is described and its connections to both the summit data systems and the outward-facing systems downstream include the Moving Object Processing System (MOPS) & the public database: the Published Science Products Subsystem (PSPS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Faint supernovae and supernova impostors: case studies of SN 2002kg/NGC 2403-V37 and SN 2003gm

TL;DR: In this article, the spectral properties of these SNe are discussed in the context of previously proposed scenarios for faint SNe: low mass progenitors producing under-energetic SNe; SNe with ejecta constrained by a circumstellar medium; and outbursts of massive Luminous Blue Variables (LBVs).
Journal ArticleDOI

On the α-Element Abundance Gradients in the Disk of the Sculptor Spiral Galaxy NGC 300*

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed spectral analysis of six early B-type supergiants in the Sculptor Group spiral galaxy NGC 300 was carried out using state-of-the-art unified blanketed non-local thermodynamic equilibrium model atmospheres, aimed at the determination of the stellar parameters and of detailed surface abundance patterns.
