Journal ArticleDOI
Platelet function monitoring to adjust antiplatelet therapy in elderly patients stented for an acute coronary syndrome (ANTARCTIC): an open-label, blinded-endpoint, randomised controlled superiority trial
Guillaume Cayla,Thomas Cuisset,Johanne Silvain,Florence Leclercq,Stéphane Manzo-Silberman,Christophe Saint-Etienne,Nicolas Delarche,Anne Bellemain-Appaix,Grégoire Rangé,Rami El Mahmoud,Didier Carrié,Loic Belle,Géraud Souteyrand,Pierre Aubry,Pierre Sabouret,Xavier Halna du Fretay,Farzin Beygui,Jean-Louis Bonnet,Benoit Lattuca,Christophe Pouillot,Olivier Varenne,Ziad Boueri,Eric Van Belle,Patrick Henry,Pascal Motreff,Simon Elhadad,Joe-Elie Salem,Jérémie Abtan,Hélène Rousseau,Jean-Philippe Collet,Eric Vicaut,Gilles Montalescot +31 more
TL;DR: Platelet function monitoring with treatment adjustment did not improve the clinical outcome of elderly patients treated with coronary stenting for an acute coronary syndrome and international guidelines still recommend platelet function testing in high-risk situations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug-eluting stents in elderly patients with coronary artery disease (SENIOR): a randomised single-blind trial
Olivier Varenne,Stéphane Cook,Georgios Sideris,Sasko Kedev,Thomas Cuisset,Didier Carrié,Thomas Hovasse,Philippe Garot,Rami El Mahmoud,Christian Spaulding,Gérard Helft,José Francisco Díaz Fernández,Salvatore Brugaletta,Eduardo Pinar-Bermudez,Josepa Mauri Ferre,Philippe Commeau,Emmanuel Teiger,Kris Bogaerts,Kris Bogaerts,Manel Sabaté,Marie-Claude Morice,Peter Sinnaeve +21 more
TL;DR: Among elderly patients who have PCI, a DES and a short duration of DAPT are better than BMS and a similar duration ofDAPT with respect to the occurrence of all-cause mortality, myocardial infarction, stroke, and ischaemia-driven target lesion revascularisation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Usefulness of two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography for assessment of Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy.
Nicolas Mansencal,Nacéra Abbou,Rémy Pillière,Rami El Mahmoud,Jean-Christian Farcot,Olivier Dubourg +5 more
TL;DR: 2-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography is a reliable tool for assessing circular dysfunction in patients with Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy and can also be used in the follow-up of LV functional recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Ticagrelor was not superior to clopidogrel in reducing periprocedural myocardial necrosis after elective PCI and did not cause an increase in major bleeding, but did increase the rate of minor bleeding at 30 days, which supports the use of clopinogrel as the standard of care for elective PCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prospective assessment of incidence of Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy in a very large urban agglomeration.
Nicolas Mansencal,Bertran Auvert,Roland N'Guetta,Jean-Baptiste Estève,Kevin Zarca,Stéphane Perrot,Rami El Mahmoud,Camille Legeai,Sophie Bataille,O. Nallet,Jean-Pierre Tresca,Simon Cattan,Christian Spaulding,Olivier Dubourg +13 more
TL;DR: Within a large urban agglomeration, the incidence of Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy is high in women ≥ 60 years and will probably rise with the increase of life expectancy.
