Journal ArticleDOI

Comprehensive mapping of the methylation landscape of 16 CpG-dense regions in oral and pharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

TL;DR: Targeted multiplex bisulfite amplicon sequencing allowed us to efficiently map methylation across the entire region of interest with a high degree of sensitivity and helps shed light on novel differentially methylated regions that may have value as biomarkers of OPSCC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variability in TRBV haplotype frequency and composition in Caucasian, African American, Western African and Chinese populations.

TL;DR: This study identifies the existence of haplotypic relationships between alleles of these genes in the Caucasian population and demonstrates that patterns of LD are not consistent across the entire TRBV locus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide association studies in Samoans give insight into the genetic architecture of fasting serum lipid levels.

TL;DR: The association with several known lipid loci combined with the newly identified associations with variants near MGAT1 and RAB21 suggest that while some of the genetic architecture of lipids is shared between Samoans and other populations, part of the Genetic architecture may be Polynesian-specific.
Journal Article

Fish and Shellfish Intake and Diabetes in a Costal Population of the Adriatic.

TL;DR: Longitudinal studies incorporating measures of persistent organic pollutants and local cooking practices are warranted to identify factors in fatty fish that may influence the development or persistence of diabetes.
