TL;DR: In women with higher fasting glycemia TT genotype of Cx37 polymorphism was protective against subclinical atherosclerosis, therefore, the C x37 gene may exert completely different effects in the artery wall, depending on glyCEmia.

TL;DR: Sex, age and glomerular filtration rate were shown to be more important determinants of the risk of hypertension than the underlying biopsy-proven diagnosis itself, irrespective of the histological finding.

Exercise testing in hypertensive patients for assessing the cardiovascular protective potential of antihypertensive drugs
TL;DR: There is growing evidence that central pressure is a better predictor for cardiovascular risk than peripheral blood pressure, since this variable takes into account the overall effect of vascular aging and increased arterial stiffness that age and other concomitant diseases may induce.
