Journal ArticleDOI
Bandgap tuning of multiferroic oxide solar cells
Riad Nechache,Riad Nechache,Catalin Harnagea,Shun Li,Luis Cardenas,Wei Huang,Joyprokash Chakrabartty,Federico Rosei,Federico Rosei +8 more
TL;DR: Tuning the bandgap of multiferroic solar cells made from Bi2FeCrO6 is achieved by cationic ordering and is shown to dramatically improve their performance as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Physical aspects of ferroelectric semiconductors for photovoltaic solar energy conversion
Pilar Lopez-Varo,Luca Bertoluzzi,Juan Bisquert,Juan Bisquert,Marin Alexe,Mariona Coll,Jinsong Huang,J.A. Jiménez-Tejada,Thomas Kirchartz,Thomas Kirchartz,Riad Nechache,Federico Rosei,Yongbo Yuan +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a critical overview of the physical principles and mechanisms of solar energy conversion using ferroelectric semiconductors and contact layers, as well as the main achievements reported so far.
Journal ArticleDOI
Remarkably enhanced photocatalytic activity of laser ablated Au nanoparticle decorated BiFeO3 nanowires under visible-light
Shun Li,Jianming Zhang,Golam Kibria,Zetian Mi,Mohamed Chaker,Dongling Ma,Riad Nechache,Federico Rosei,Federico Rosei +8 more
TL;DR: Hybrid photocatalysts consisting of single crystalline BiFeO3 nanowires and laser ablated Au nanoparticles were synthesized by a functionalization-step-free solution process and exhibit ~30 times higher photoc atalytic activity for water oxidation than that exhibited by the parent wires during the first 4 h.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photovoltaic properties of Bi2FeCrO6 epitaxial thin films
Riad Nechache,Catalin Harnagea,Silvia Licoccia,Enrico Traversa,Andreas Ruediger,Alain Pignolet,F. Rosei +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a large photovoltaic effect in multiferroic Bi2FeCrO6 (BFCO) films under monochromatic illumination at 635 nm with an intensity of 1.5
Journal ArticleDOI
Bifunctional catalytic/magnetic Ni@Ru core–shell nanoparticles
Guozhu Chen,Stefano Desinan,Riad Nechache,Renzo Rosei,Federico Rosei,Federico Rosei,Dongling Ma +6 more
TL;DR: Core-shell structured Ni@Ru bimetallic nanoparticles are demonstrated as a bifunctional nanoplatform system for the hydrolysis reaction of ammonia-borane and also for magnetic separation.
