Journal ArticleDOI
Municipal-treated wastewater reuse for plant nurseries irrigation.
TL;DR: Agronomic results indicate no major limitations to the use of a tertiary effluent as an irrigation source in an ornamental plant nursery, and the nutrient content of the tertiaries effluent was able to maintain good plant growth as well as fertigated water for most of the tested species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Greenhouse gases from wastewater treatment - A review of modelling tools.
Giorgio Mannina,G. A. Ekama,Donatella Caniani,Alida Cosenza,Giovanni Esposito,Riccardo Gori,Manel Garrido-Baserba,Diego Rosso,Gustaf Olsson +8 more
TL;DR: The literature review reveals that knowledge on the processes related to N2O formation, especially due to autotrophic biomass, is still incomplete, and shows that a plant-wide modelling approach that includes GHG is the best option for the understanding how to reduce the carbon footprint of WWTPs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methodologies to assess biodegradation of bioplastics during aerobic composting and anaerobic digestion: A review.
TL;DR: The article aims at providing a critical insight of research studies carried out in the last 20 years on the degradation of bioplastics under aerobic composting and anaerobic digestion conditions to find significant correlations between the results obtained and the experimental procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrothermal carbonization of sewage sludge: A critical analysis of process severity, hydrochar properties and environmental implications.
Andrea Luca Tasca,Monica Puccini,Riccardo Gori,Ilaria Corsi,Anna Maria Raspolli Galletti,Sandra Vitolo +5 more
TL;DR: Relationships between char yields, physicochemical properties and process parameters are here analysed, to provide insight into the choice of the process severity required to fit the desired application.
Journal ArticleDOI
Powdered activated carbon and membrane bioreactors (MBRPAC) for tannery wastewater treatment: long term effect on biological and filtration process performances
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental investigation carried out on a pilot scale membrane bioreactor (MBR) with the addition of powdered activated carbon (PAC) to analyze improvements in effluent quality and in the filtration process was conducted.
