Reconstructing tropical Atlantic hydrography using planktontic foraminifera and an ocean model

TL;DR: In this paper, a new technique to reconstruct past tropical Atlantic (20°N to 20°S) photic zone hydrography and surface wind field using faunal assemblage data from deep-sea cores is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intensification and variability of ocean thermohaline circulation through the last deglaciation

TL;DR: Neodymium isotope ratios in the authigenic ferromanganese oxide component in a southeastern Atlantic core reveal a history of the global overturning circulation intensity through the last deglaciation as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

River runoff, sea ice meltwater, and Pacific water distribution and mean residence times in the Arctic Ocean

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used tracer data collected during ARK IV/3 (FS Polarstern in 1987, ARCTIC91 (IB Oden), and AOS94 (CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent) expeditions to reveal the evolution of the near-surface waters in the Arctic Ocean during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Journal ArticleDOI

Uranium-series dating of the Pleistocene reef tracts of Barbados, West Indies

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed study of reef-tract stratigraphy in the southwestern part of Barbados has revealed nine, seven, and ten reef tracts in the Christ Church, Clermont Nose, and Saint George9s Valley sections, respectively.
