Nasal insulin to prevent type 1 diabetes in children with HLA genotypes and autoantibodies conferring increased risk of disease: a double-blind, randomised controlled trial
Kirsti Näntö-Salonen,A. Kupila,Satu Simell,Heli Siljander,Tiina Salonsaari,Anne Hekkala,Sari Korhonen,Risto Erkkola,Jukka Sipilä,Lotta Haavisto,Marja Siltala,Juhani Tuominen,Jari Hakalax,Heikki Hyöty,Jorma Ilonen,Jorma Ilonen,Riitta Veijola,Tuula Simell,Mikael Knip,Olli Simell +19 more
TL;DR: In children with HLA-conferred susceptibility to diabetes, administration of nasal insulin, started soon after detection of autoantibodies, could not be shown to prevent or delay type 1 diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI
When does estrogen replacement therapy improve sleep quality
TL;DR: Alleviation of climacteric symptoms was the most important predictive factor for the beneficial effect of estrogen replacement therapy on sleep complaints and significantly diminished sleep complaints among postmenopausal women.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of short-term estrogen replacement therapy on cognition: a randomized, double-blind, cross-over trial in postmenopausal women.
TL;DR: Cognitive performance decreased with age: older women were slower and made errors than younger women, and short-term estrogen replacement therapy did not provide any advantage over the placebo in terms of improving the performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Marie Cheour,Marie Cheour,Olga Martynova,Risto Näätänen,Risto Erkkola,Matti Sillanpää,Pentti Kero,Amir Raz,Marja-Liisa Kaipio,Jaana Hiltunen,Olli Aaltonen,Janne Savela,Heikki Hämäläinen +12 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiovascular and cancer morbidity and mortality and sudden cardiac death in postmenopausal women on oestrogen replacement therapy (ERT)
