Is Enantiomer Assignment Possible by NMR Spectroscopy Using Residual Dipolar Couplings from Chiral Nonracemic Alignment Media?—A Critical Assessment
Robert Berger,Jacques Courtieu,Roberto R. Gil,Christian Griesinger,Matthias Köck,Philippe Lesot,Burkhard Luy,Denis Merlet,Armando Navarro-Vázquez,Michael Reggelin,Uwe M. Reinscheid,Christina M. Thiele,Markus Zweckstetter +12 more
TL;DR: There is currently not a simple and universally applicable approach to determine the absolute configuration of molecules with few stereogenic centers, and two recent papers published in 2007 and 2011 have created a lot of excitement in the chemistry and NMR spectroscopy communities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Towards multiscale modeling of ionic liquids: From electronic structure to bulk properties
Florian Dommert,Jochen Schmidt,Christian Krekeler,Yuan-yuan Zhao,Robert Berger,Luigi Delle Site,Christian Holm +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a multiscale approach for the description of ionic liquids is presented, which combines post-Hartree-Fock calculations (pHF), density functional theory (DFT) and classical all-atomistic molecular dynamics simulations to go from individual molecules to bulk properties in a setup that is able to bridge the large time and length scale gaps involved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Absolute ion detection efficiencies of microchannel plates and funnel microchannel plates for multi-coincidence detection.
K. Fehre,D. Trojanowskaja,J. Gatzke,Maksim Kunitski,Florian Trinter,S. Zeller,L. Ph. H. Schmidt,Jürgen Stohner,Robert Berger,Achim Czasch,Ottmar Jagutzki,Till Jahnke,Reinhard Dörner,Markus Schöffler +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented measured absolute detection efficiencies for protons of several micro-channel plates (MCPs), including efficiency enhanced “funnel MCPs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of high soft x-ray drive in large-scale hohlraums at the National Ignition Facility.
John Kline,Siegfried Glenzer,R. E. Olson,L. J. Suter,Klaus Widmann,Debra Callahan,S. N. Dixit,Cliff Thomas,Denise Hinkel,E. A. Williams,Alastair Moore,John R. Celeste,E. L. Dewald,W. W. Hsing,A. L. Warrick,J. Atherton,S. Azevedo,R G Beeler,Robert Berger,A. Conder,Laurent Divol,C. A. Haynam,Daniel H. Kalantar,Robert L. Kauffman,George A. Kyrala,J. D. Kilkenny,J. Liebman,S. Le Pape,D. Larson,Nathan Meezan,Pierre Michel,J. D. Moody,M. D. Rosen,Marilyn Schneider,B. M. Van Wonterghem,R. J. Wallace,B. K. F. Young,Otto Landen,B. J. MacGowan +38 more
TL;DR: The first soft x-rays radiation flux measurements from hohlraums using both a 96 and a 192 beam configuration at the National Ignition Facility have shown high x-ray conversion efficiencies of ∼85%-90%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Absolute Configuration from Different Multifragmentation Pathways in Light-Induced Coulomb Explosion Imaging.
M. Pitzer,G. Kastirke,Maksim Kunitski,PD Till Jahnke,T. Bauer,C. Goihl,Florian Trinter,C. Schober,K. Henrichs,J. Becht,S. Zeller,H. Gassert,M. Waitz,Andreas Kuhlins,H. Sann,Felix Sturm,F. Wiegandt,R. Wallauer,Lothar Ph. H. Schmidt,Allan S. Johnson,Manuel Mazenauer,Benjamin Spenger,Sabrina Marquardt,Sebastian Marquardt,Horst Schmidt-Böcking,Jürgen Stohner,Reinhard Dörner,Markus Schöffler,Robert Berger +28 more
TL;DR: It is shown that even incomplete fragmentation pathways of individual molecules from a racemic CHBrClF sample can give access to the absolute configuration in CEI, leading to a significant increase of the applicability of the method as compared to the previously reported complete break up into atomic ions.
