Journal ArticleDOI

An R-type Ca(2+) current in neurohypophysial terminals preferentially regulates oxytocin secretion.

TL;DR: The results suggest that an α1E or “R”-type Ca2+ channel exists in oxytocinergic nerve terminals and, thus, functions in controlling only Oxytocin release from the rat neurohypophysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Purification and amino acid composition of a peptide with molt-inhibiting activity from the lobster, Homarus americanus.

TL;DR: A peptide was isolated and purified from sinus glands of the lobster, Homarus americanus, that was able to decrease circulating titers of ecdysteroids and increase the molt interval of eyestalk-ablated juvenile lobsters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peptides in the sinus gland ofCardisoma carnifex: isolation and amino acid analysis

TL;DR: Reversed phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) has been used to isolate most of the peptides in the sinus gland of the land crabCardisoma carnifex, and high sensitivity peptide maps were obtained by RPLC ofThe peptide fluoreseamine derivatives.
