Acute kidney injury in China: a cross-sectional survey

TL;DR: A nationwide, cross-sectional survey of adult patients who were admitted to hospital in 2013 in academic or local hospitals from 22 provinces in mainland China aimed to evaluate the burden of AKI and assess the availability of diagnosis and treatment and found that 1·4-2·9 million people with AKI were admitted in China in 2013.
Journal ArticleDOI

LncRNA MALAT1 is dysregulated in diabetic nephropathy and involved in high glucose-induced podocyte injury via its interplay with β-catenin.

TL;DR: It is found that MALAT1 levels were increased in kidney cortices from C57BL/6 mice with streptozocin‐induced diabetic nephropathy, and dynamically regulated in cultured mouse podocytes stimulated with high glucose, which showed a trend from rise to decline.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Role of the p38 MAPK Signaling Pathway in High Glucose-Induced Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition of Cultured Human Renal Tubular Epithelial Cells

TL;DR: It is suggested that p38 MAPK may play an important role in the high glucose-induced EMT by activating AP-1 in tubular epithelial cells.
