Meta-Analysis for Linear and Nonlinear Dose-Response Relations: Examples, an Evaluation of Approximations, and Software

TL;DR: Methods for point and interval estimation of relative risk for log-linear exposure-response relations in meta-analyses of published ordinal categorical exposure- response data have been proposed and the use of 2 publicly available user-friendly programs (Stata and SAS) to implement meta-analysis for dose-response data is illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calcium intake and hip fracture risk in men and women: a meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies and randomized controlled trials

TL;DR: In this article, the role of total calcium intake in the prevention of hip fracture risk has not been well established, and the authors assess the relation of calciumintaketotheriskofhip fractureonthebasis of meta-analyses of cohort studies and clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary Calcium and Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Status in Relation to BMD Among U.S. Adults†

TL;DR: Among men and women, 25(OH)D status seems to be the dominant predictor of BMD relative to calcium intake, and only women with 25( OH)D concentrations <50 nM seem to benefit from a higher calcium intake.
