Journal ArticleDOI
BiodosEPR-2006 Meeting: Acute dosimetry consensus committee recommendations on biodosimetry applications in events involving uses of radiation by terrorists and radiation accidents
George A. Alexander,Harold M. Swartz,Sally A. Amundson,William F. Blakely,Brooke Buddemeier,Bernard Gallez,Nicholas Dainiak,Ronald E. Goans,Robert B. Hayes,Patrick C. Lowry,Michael A. Noska,Paul Okunieff,Andrew L. Salner,David A. Schauer,François Trompier,Kenneth W. Turteltaub,P. Voisin,Albert L. Wiley,Ruth C. Wilkins +18 more
TL;DR: In the aftermath of a radiological terrorism incident or mass-casualty radiation accident, first responders and receivers require prior guidance and pre-positioned resources for assessment, triage and medical management of affected individuals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interlaboratory Comparison of the Dicentric Chromosome Assay for Radiation Biodosimetry in Mass Casualty Events
Ruth C. Wilkins,Horst Romm,Tzu-Cheg Kao,Akio A. Awa,Mitsuaki A. Yoshida,Gordon K. Livingston,Mark S. Jenkins,Ursula Oestreicher,Terry C. Pellmar,Pataje G. S. Prasanna +9 more
TL;DR: This interlaboratory comparison validates the dicentric chromosome assay for assessing radiation dose in mass casualty accidents and identifies the advantages and limitations of an international biodosimetry network.
Journal ArticleDOI
The response of gamma-H2AX in human lymphocytes and lymphocytes subsets measured in whole blood cultures.
TL;DR: Differences in the expression level of γ-H2AX between lymphocyte subsets were minimal and the usefulness of this assay for radiation biodosimetry is hampered by its relatively quick lifetime kinetics and large inter-individual variation.
Journal ArticleDOI
WHO 1st consultation on the development of a global biodosimetry laboratories network for radiation emergencies (BioDoseNet).
William F. Blakely,Zhanat Carr,May Chin-May Chu,Renu Dayal-Drager,Kenzo Fujimoto,Michael Hopmeir,Ulrike Kulka,Patricia K. Lillis-Hearne,Gordon K. Livingston,David Lloyd,Natalie Maznyk,Maria del Rosario Perez,Horst Romm,Yoshio Takashima,P. Voisin,Ruth C. Wilkins,Mitsuaki A. Yoshida +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of the 1st Consultation on the Development of a Global Biodosimetry Laboratories Network for Radiation Emergencies (BioDoseNet).
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of a reference region model with direct measurement of an AIF in the analysis of DCE-MRI data.
Thomas E. Yankeelov,Greg O. Cron,Christina L. Addison,Julia C. Wallace,Ruth C. Wilkins,Bruce A. Pappas,Giles E. Santyr,Giles E. Santyr,John C. Gore +8 more
TL;DR: Experimental results obtained from a reference region (RR) analysis are compared with results of an AIF analysis in the same set of five animals, returning estimates of the volume transfer constant (Ktrans) and the extravascular extracellular volume fraction (ve).
