Journal ArticleDOI
A new etching environment (FeF3/HCl) for the synthesis of two-dimensional titanium carbide MXenes: a route towards selective reactivity vs. water
X. Wang,Cyril Garnero,Guillaume Rochard,Damien Magne,Sophie Morisset,S. Hurand,Patrick Chartier,Julie Rousseau,Thierry Cabioc’h,Christophe Coutanceau,Vincent Mauchamp,Stéphane Célérier +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of Ti3C2Tx (and Ti2CTx alike) MXenes is performed with a new etching environment (FeF3/HCl).
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-dimensional superconducting phase in LaTiO3/SrTiO3 heterostructures induced by high-mobility carrier doping.
J. Biscaras,Nicolas Bergeal,Nicolas Bergeal,S. Hurand,C. Grossetete,A. Rastogi,R. C. Budhani,R. C. Budhani,David Leboeuf,Cyril Proust,Jerome Lesueur +10 more
TL;DR: The calculation of the electron spatial distribution in the confinement potential shows that the high-mobility electrons responsible for superconductivity set at the edge of the gas whose extension can be tuned by the field effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiple quantum criticality in a two-dimensional superconductor
J. Biscaras,Nicolas Bergeal,S. Hurand,Cheryl Feuillet-Palma,A. Rastogi,R. C. Budhani,R. C. Budhani,Marco Grilli,Sergio Caprara,Jerome Lesueur +9 more
TL;DR: This work examines the magnetic-field-driven quantum phase transition that occurs in electrostatically gated superconducting LaTiO3/Sr TiO3 interfaces and shows that it belongs to the (2+1)D XY model universality class.
Journal ArticleDOI
One MAX phase, different MXenes: a guideline to understand the crucial role of etching conditions on Ti3C2Tx surface chemistry
Mohamed Benchakar,Lola Loupias,Cyril Garnero,Thomas Bilyk,Cláudia Morais,Christine Canaff,Nadia Guignard,Sophie Morisset,Hanna Pazniak,S. Hurand,Patrick Chartier,J. Pacaud,Vincent Mauchamp,Michel W. Barsoum,Aurélien Habrioux,Stéphane Célérier +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors highlight how etching agents govern surface chemistries of Ti3C2Tx, the most widely studied MXene to date, and demonstrate that the etching agent strongly modifies the nature of surface terminal groups (F, OH and/or O), oxidation sensitivity, delamination ability, nature of inserted species, interstratification, concentration of defects and size of flakes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Limit of the electrostatic doping in two-dimensional electron gases of LaXO3(X = Al, Ti)/SrTiO3
J. Biscaras,S. Hurand,Cheryl Feuillet-Palma,A. Rastogi,R. C. Budhani,Nicolas Reyren,Edouard Lesne,Jerome Lesueur,Nicolas Bergeal +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the Fermi energy lies intrinsically near the top of the quantum well and beyond a filling threshold, electrons added by electrostatic gating escape from the well, hence limiting the possibility to reach a highly-doped regime.
