Overview of TFTR transport studies

TL;DR: A review of TFTR plasma transport studies is presented in this article, where parallel transport and the confinement of suprathermal ions are found to be relatively well described by theory and the underlying turbulence has been studied using microwave scattering, beam emission spectroscopy and microwave reflectometry over a much broader range in k perpendicular to than previously possible.

Overview of DT results from TFTR

TL;DR: Experiments with plasmas having nearly equal concentrations of deuterium and tritium have been carried out on TFTR as mentioned in this paper and the maximum fusion power has been 107 MW, using 395 MW of neutral beam heating, in a supershot discharge and 67 MW in a high beta P discharge following a current ramp-down.

Detection of surface glow related to spacecraft glow phenomena

TL;DR: A source of low energy neutral atoms and molecules has been developed by using a biased limiter to scrape off and reflect neutralized ions from a toroidal plasma as mentioned in this paper, where beams of nitrogen and nitrogen-oxygen mixtures with energies of 1 to 15 eV and fluxes greater than about 10 to 14 per centimeter per second were directed onto target surfaces consisting of Z-302 and Z-306 paints.
