Journal ArticleDOI

Monitoring of blood vessels and tissues by a population of monocytes with patrolling behavior.

TL;DR: It is shown, by direct examination of blood monocyte functions in vivo, that a subset of monocytes patrols healthy tissues through long-range crawling on the resting endothelium, which initiated an early immune response and differentiated into macrophages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Targeted therapy in patients with PIK3CA-related overgrowth syndrome

TL;DR: This study provides the first direct evidence supporting PIK3CA inhibition as a promising therapeutic strategy in patients with PROS, by reversing symptoms in a mouse model of PROS/CLOVES syndrome, which results from gain-of-function mutations in PI3KCA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Germline mutations of the RET ligand GDNF are not sufficient to cause Hirschsprung disease.

TL;DR: S segregation analysis suggested an incompletely penetrant dominant inheritance in HSCR families with agan-glionosis extending beyond the sigmoid colon, and mutations of the gene encoding GDNF could either cause or modulate the H SCR phenotype in some cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comprehensive Study of the Intestinal Stage of Listeriosis in a Rat Ligated Ileal Loop System

TL;DR: It is suggested that Peyer’s patches are preferential sites for replication rather than for entry of L. monocytogenes, due to the presence of highly permissive mononuclear cells whose nature remains to be defined.
