Journal ArticleDOI
Hybrid carbon based nanomaterials for electrochemical detection of biomolecules
TL;DR: In this article, a review of the available data on the structural, chemical and electrochemical properties of hybrid carbon nanomaterials is presented, showing that the data is scattered, often inconsistent and even contradictory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dopant Distribution in Co-Free High-Energy Layered Cathode Materials
Linqin Mu,Rui Zhang,Wang Hay Kan,Yan Zhang,Luxi Li,Chunguang Kuai,Benjamin Zydlewski,Muhammad Mominur Rahman,Cheng-Jun Sun,Sami Sainio,Maxim Avdeev,Maxim Avdeev,Dennis Nordlund,Huolin L. Xin,Feng Lin +14 more
TL;DR: The practical implementation of Co-free, LiNiO2-derived cathodes has been prohibited by their poor cycle life and thermal stability resulting from the structural instability, phase transformations as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical Fouling of Dopamine and Recovery of Carbon Electrodes
Emilia Peltola,Emilia Peltola,Sami Sainio,Katherine B. Holt,Tommi Palomäki,Jari Koskinen,Tomi Laurila +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that heterogeneous modification of carbon electrodes with carboxyl-amine functionalities offers protection against formation of an insulating polydopamine layer, while retaining the ability to detect DA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural and Electrochemical Impacts of Mg/Mn Dual Dopants on the LiNiO2 Cathode in Li-Metal Batteries.
Linqin Mu,Wang Hay Kan,Chunguang Kuai,Zhijie Yang,Luxi Li,Cheng-Jun Sun,Sami Sainio,Maxim Avdeev,Dennis Nordlund,Feng Lin +9 more
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that the dual dopants can, to some degree, mitigate the irreversibility and improve the cycling stability of LiNiO2, but more efforts are needed to eliminate the key challenges of these materials for battery operation in the conventional carbonate electrolyte.
Journal ArticleDOI
Compositionally complex doping for zero-strain zero-cobalt layered cathodes
Rui Zhang,Chunyang Wang,Peichao Zou,Ruoqian Lin,Lu Ma,Liang Yin,Tianyi Li,Wen-Qing Xu,Hao Jia,Qiuyan Li,Sami Sainio,Kim Kisslinger,Stephen E. Trask,Steven N. Ehrlich,Yang Yang,Andrew M. Kiss,Mingyuan Ge,Bryant J. Polzin,Sang Jun Lee,Wu Xu,Yang Ren,Huolin L. Xin +21 more
