Journal ArticleDOI
DNA sequence and expression of the B95-8 Epstein—Barr virus genome
R. Baer,R. Baer,Alan T. Bankier,Mark D. Biggin,Prescott L. Deininger,Paul J. Farrell,Toby J. Gibson,Graham F. Hatfull,Graham S. Hudson,Sandra C. Satchwell,C. Séguin,C. Séguin,P. S. Tuffnell,Bart Barrell +13 more
TL;DR: The complete (172,282 base pairs) nucleotide sequence of the B95-8 strain of Epstein–Barr virus has been established using the dideoxynucleotide/M13 sequencing procedure.
Book ChapterDOI
Analysis of the Protein-Coding Content of the Sequence of Human Cytomegalovirus Strain AD169
M. S. Chee,Alan T. Bankier,Stephan Beck,R. Bohni,C. M. Brown,R. Cerny,T. Horsnell,C. A. Hutchison,Tony Kouzarides,John A. Martignetti,E. Preddie,Sandra C. Satchwell,P. Tomlinson,Kathleen Weston,Bart Barrell +14 more
TL;DR: This chapter is being written in March 1989 when the sequence is complete except for some remaining polishing of certain areas which is still going on (manuscript in preparation).
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequence periodicities in chicken nucleosome core DNA.
TL;DR: The rotational positioning of DNA about the histone octamer appears to be determined by certain sequence-dependent modulations of DNA structure, and it is observed that long runs of homopolymer (dA) X (dT) prefer to occupy the ends of core DNA, five to six turns away from the dyad.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of the human cytomegalovirus glycoprotein B gene and induction of neutralizing antibodies via its expression in recombinant vaccinia virus.
M P Cranage,Tony Kouzarides,Alan T. Bankier,Sandra C. Satchwell,Kathleen Weston,P. Tomlinson,Bart Barrell,H Hart,Susanne Bell,Anthony Charles Minson +9 more
TL;DR: Rabbits immunized with the recombinant vaccinia virus produced antibodies that immunoprecipitate gB from HCMV‐infected cells and neutralize H CMV infectivity in vitro, demonstrating a role for this protein in future HCMVs vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequence and transcription analysis of the human cytomegalovirus DNA polymerase gene.
Tony Kouzarides,Alan T. Bankier,Sandra C. Satchwell,Kathleen Weston,P Tomlinson,Bart Barrell +5 more
TL;DR: A 5280 base-pair DNA sequence containing the human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) pol gene, along with the analysis of transcripts encoded within this region was presented in this paper.
