Analytical Model for Deflection of the Runway Pavement at Touchdown Point Caused by an Aircraft during Landing
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple analytical model is presented to predict dynamic deflection of a runway pavement at touchdown point caused by a landing gear load during aircraft landing using three independent parameters, modulus of subgrade reaction (ks), contact pressure (p), and vertical component of aircraft velocity (vv).
Journal ArticleDOI
An experimental study on the additional settlement of footings resting on granular soils by water table rise
TL;DR: In this article, a relation between the saturated and dry Young's moduli of the granular soils is presented for use in the elastic analysis of footing settlements, which is then used to predict the additional settlements of a model footing when subjected to a water table rise, using elastic analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seismic Behaviour of Retaining Structures, Design Issues and Requalification Techniques
Deepankar Choudhury,Deepankar Choudhury,Amey Deepak Katdare,Sanjay Kumar Shukla,B. Munwar Basha,Priyanka Ghosh +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a critical review of the available procedures for the seismic analysis, design and requalification of retaining structures in seismic-prone areas and explain the methods which are currently used in routine practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of Benefits of Open-Graded Friction Courses with Basic Oxygen Furnace Steel-Slag Aggregates for Hilly and High-Rainfall Regions in India
TL;DR: In hilly and high-rainfall regions, very sharp curves, lack of skid resistance, and poor visibility form a major cause for road-traffic accidents in India and other similar parts of the world.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct shear testing study of the interface behavior between steel plate and compacted completely decomposed granite under different vertical stresses and suctions
TL;DR: In this article, the shearing behavior of soil-steel interfaces sheared at different planes was examined using a modified suction-controlled direct shear apparatus (MDSA), and the results showed that the MDSA can be used for direct shearing of soil steel interfaces.
