Formation of α clusters in dilute neutron-rich matter
Junki Tanaka,Zaihong Yang,Stefan Typel,S. Adachi,Shi-Wei Bai,Patrik van Beek,Didier Beaumel,Yuki Fujikawa,Jiaxing Han,Sebastian Heil,Siwei Huang,A. Inoue,Ying Jiang,Marco Knösel,Nobuyuki Kobayashi,Yuki Kubota,Wei Liu,Jian-Ling Lou,Yukie Maeda,Yohei Matsuda,Kenjiro Miki,S. N. Nakamura,Kazuyuki Ogata,Kazuyuki Ogata,V. Panin,Heiko Scheit,Fabia Schindler,P. Schrock,Dmytro Symochko,Atsushi Tamii,Tomohiro Uesaka,V. Wagner,Kazuki Yoshida,Juzo Zenihiro,Thomas Aumann +34 more
TL;DR: In this article, the formation of α clusters at the surface of neutron-rich tin isotopes has been investigated using quasi-free α cluster-knockout reactions, and the observed monotonous decrease of reaction cross sections with increasing mass number implies a tight interplay between α-cluster formation and the neutron skin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Re-examining the transition into the N = 20 island of inversion: Structure of 30 Mg
B. Fernández-Domínguez,B. Fernández-Domínguez,B. Fernández-Domínguez,B. Pietras,W. N. Catford,N. A. Orr,Marina Petri,Marina Petri,Marina Petri,Marielle Chartier,Stefanos Paschalis,Stefanos Paschalis,N. Patterson,J. S. Thomas,M. Caamaño,Takaharu Otsuka,Alfredo Poves,Naofumi Tsunoda,N. L. Achouri,J. Macchiavelli,F. Negoita,E. S. Paul,C. Rodriguez-Tajes,P. Roussel-Chomaz,M. Staniou,Michael Taylor,L. Trache,G. L. Wilson +41 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the cross-shell effects in the region of the N = 20 island of inversion at Z = 12 and concluded that crossshell effects play a major role in the structure of 30Mg.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lifetime Measurements and Triple Coexisting Band Structure in ^{43}S.
T. Mijatović,N. Kobayashi,H. Iwasaki,D. Bazin,J. Belarge,P. C. Bender,B. A. Brown,A. Dewald,R. Elder,Brandon Elman,Alexandra Gade,M. Grinder,T. Haylett,Sebastian Heil,C. Loelius,Brenden Longfellow,E. Lunderberg,M. Mathy,K. Whitmore,D. Weisshaar +19 more
TL;DR: Lifetime measurements of excited states in the neutron-rich nucleus ^{43}S were performed by applying the recoil-distance method on fast rare-isotope beams in conjunction with the Gamma-Ray Energy Tracking In-beam Nuclear Array, and new data based on γγ coincidences and lifetime measurements resolve a doublet of (3/2^{-}) and (5/2}) states at low excitation energies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Competing particle-hole excitations in 30Na: Constraining state-of-the-art effective interactions
Marina Petri,P. Fallon,A. O. Macchiavelli,Sebastian Heil,Elena Rodriguez-Vieitez,Elena Rodriguez-Vieitez,D. Bazin,C. M. Campbell,R. M. Clark,M. Cromaz,Alexandra Gade,T. Glasmacher,I. Y. Lee,S. Malbrunot-Ettenauer,Stefanos Paschalis,A. Ratkiewicz,J. R. Terry,D. Weisshaar,M. Wiedeking +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the odd-odd nucleus 30Na was studied via a one-proton, oneproton-one-neutron and one-neurons removal reaction using an intermediate-energy 31Mg, 32Mg and 31Na radioactive ion beam, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electromagnetic properties of 21O for benchmarking nuclear Hamiltonians
Sebastian Heil,Marina Petri,Marina Petri,Klaus Vobig,D. Bazin,J. Belarge,P. C. Bender,P. C. Bender,B. A. Brown,R. Elder,Brandon Elman,Alexandra Gade,T. Haylett,Jason D. Holt,T. Hüther,A. Syndikus,D. Weisshaar,K. Whitmore +30 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the first lifetime measurement of excited states in 21O, finding τ 1 / 2 + = 420 − 32 + 35 (stat) − 12 + 34 (sys) ps.
