Journal ArticleDOI

Multicenter experience in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for serious complications of common variable immunodeficiency

TL;DR: HSCT in patients with CVID was beneficial in most surviving patients; however, there was a high mortality associated with the procedure, so this therapeutic approach should only be considered in carefully selected patients in whom there has been extensive characterization of the immunologic and/or genetic defect underlying the CVID diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hematopoietic cell transplantation in chronic granulomatous disease: a study of 712 children and adults

TL;DR: An excellent outcome after allo-HCT in CGD is reported, with low incidence of graft failure and mortality in all ages, and Transplant should be strongly considered at a younger age and particularly in the presence of a well-matched donor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Disseminated cryptosporidium infection in an infant with hyper-IgM syndrome caused by CD40 deficiency.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the case of an infant with severe respiratory infections, chronic diarrhea, failure to thrive, and disseminated Cryptosporidium parvum infection with CD40 deficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prospective Evaluation of Whole Genome MicroRNA Expression Profiling in Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

TL;DR: These miRNAs not only may be used as biomarkers in diagnosis of ALL and monitoring the disease but also provide new insights into the potential roles of them in leukemogenesis.
