Book ChapterDOI

Structural Database for Lectins and the UniLectin Web Platform.

TL;DR: This chapter describes how UniLectin can be used to explore the diversity of lectins, their 3D structures, and associated functional information as well as to perform reliable predictions of β-propeller lectins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conformational Study of GPI Anchors: the Common Oligosaccharide GPI Anchor Backbone

TL;DR: The solution three-dimensional structure of pseudopentasaccharide 6, which constitutes the product from the GPI-PLD cleavage of a GPI anchor, has been studied using a protocol which involves a systematic search of the conformational space around the glycosidic linkages, a thorough molecular dynamics study with explicit water molecules and a full NMR as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Examination of the effect of structural variation on the N-glycosidic torsion (ΦN) among N-(β-d-glycopyranosyl)acetamido and propionamido derivatives of monosaccharides based on crystallography and quantum chemical calculations

TL;DR: The conjunction of combining Crystallographic and computational studies allows to demonstrate the strong influence that the group at C2, and environmental factors particularly inter- and intramolecular interactions involving regular hydrogen bonds and the weak C-H...O contacts, have on the energy preference of the Phi(N) torsion angle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Glycoscience@Synchrotron: Synchrotron radiation applied to structural glycoscience.

TL;DR: The present review illustrates how synchrotron-based experiments have contributed to understanding in the field of structural glycobiology by covering structural characterization of protein–carbohydrate interactions of the families of most glycan-interacting proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stereochemical analysis of d-galacto-sulfoxides using (S)-α-methoxyphenylacetic acid

TL;DR: In this article, the absolute configuration of some sulfoxide-containing sugars was predicted using NMR shift reagents, and the correctness of this assignment was confirmed by X-ray crystallography.
