Journal ArticleDOI

TACI and BAFF-R mediate isotype switching in B cells.

TL;DR: The results obtained indicate that both TACI and BAFF-R are able to transduce signals that result in isotype switching.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cutting edge: the dependence of plasma cells and independence of memory B cells on BAFF and APRIL.

TL;DR: It is reported herein that long-lived BMEM cell survival and function are completely independent of BAFF (B cell-activating factor of the TNF family) or APRIL (a proliferation-inducing ligand), and BMEM cells represent the only mature B2 lineage subset whose survival is independent of these ligands.
Journal ArticleDOI

B-cell maturation protein, which binds the tumor necrosis factor family members BAFF and APRIL, is dispensable for humoral immune responses.

TL;DR: A functional redundancy of BCMA in B-cell physiology is suggested that is probably due to the presence of TACI, another TNF receptor family member that is expressed on B cells and that can also bind BAFF and APRIL.
Journal ArticleDOI

RIG-I, MDA5 and TLR3 synergistically play an important role in restriction of dengue virus infection.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the intracellular RNA virus sensors (RIG-I, MDA5 and TLR3) are activated upon DV infection and are essential for host defense against the virus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phospholipase Cγ2 Is Critical for Dectin-1-mediated Ca2+ Flux and Cytokine Production in Dendritic Cells

TL;DR: It is demonstrated here that stimulation of DCs with zymosan triggers an intracellular Ca2+ flux that can be attenuated by a blocking anti-Dectin-1 antibody or by pre-treatment of cells with the phospholipase C (PLC) γ-inhibitor U73122, suggesting that DectIn-1 signals via a PLCγ pathway to induce Ca1+ flux in DCs.
