Journal ArticleDOI
Failure to confirm association between SLC22A4 polymorphism and rheumatoid arthritis in a Japanese population
Mahito Kuwahara,Katsunori Ikari,Shigeki Momohara,Takahiro Nakamura,Masako Hara,Hisashi Yamanaka,Taisuke Tomatsu,Naoyuki Kamatani +7 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Smoking on Remission Proportions Differs Between Male and Female Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Study Based on the IORRA Survey
Yasushi Inoue,Ayako Nakajima,Eiichi Tanaka,Eisuke Inoue,Akiko Kobayashi,Daisuke Hoshi,Naoki Sugimoto,Yohei Seto,Atsuo Taniguchi,Shigeki Momohara,Hisashi Yamanaka +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the effect of smoking on remission proportions differed between men and women, and both sex and smoking status are important considerations when planning a treatment strategy for patients with RA.
Journal ArticleDOI
A1330V polymorphism of low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5 gene and self-reported incident fractures in Japanese female patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Takefumi Furuya,Tomohiko Urano,Katsunori Ikari,Shigeru Kotake,Satoshi Inoue,Masako Hara,Shigeki Momohara,Naoyuki Kamatani,Hisashi Yamanaka +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that this LPR5 polymorphism does not appear to be a clinically useful marker for the prediction of fracture risk in Japanese female RA patients, although it is associated with increased serum total cholesterol levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does mobile-bearing knee arthroplasty motion change with activity?
Yoshinori Mikashima,Yoshinori Ishii,Mitsuhiro Takeda,Hideo Noguchi,Shigeki Momohara,Scott A. Banks +5 more
TL;DR: Activity dynamics can have a significant influence on knee kinematics, and have a greater effect on the kinematic of unconstrained meniscal-bearing prostheses than rotating-platform knee prostheses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduction of methotrexate and glucocorticoids use after the introduction of biological disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs in patients with rheumatoid arthritis in daily practice based on the IORRA cohort
Y. Shimizu,Eiichi Tanaka,Eisuke Inoue,Kumi Shidara,Naoki Sugimoto,Yohei Seto,Ayako Nakajima,Shigeki Momohara,Atsuo Taniguchi,Hisashi Yamanaka +9 more
TL;DR: MTX and glucocorticoid use and doses in daily practice in rheumatoid arthritis patients were commonly reduced after the initiation of bDMARDs, with the dose adjustment varied depending on the b DMARD.
