Journal ArticleDOI
Is minimally invasive surgery in total knee arthroplasty really minimally invasive surgery
TL;DR: Interestingly, the midvastus approach displayed the highest RIs for creatinine phosphokinase and myoglobin between the 4 vastus-splitting approaches, whereas types of vastus -splitting approach appeared closely related to muscle damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional variants in NFKBIE and RTKN2 involved in activation of the NF-κB pathway are associated with rheumatoid arthritis in Japanese.
Keiko Myouzen,Yuta Kochi,Yukinori Okada,Chikashi Terao,Akari Suzuki,Katsunori Ikari,Tatsuhiko Tsunoda,Atsushi Takahashi,Michiaki Kubo,Atsuo Taniguchi,Fumihiko Matsuda,Koichiro Ohmura,Shigeki Momohara,Tsuneyo Mimori,Hisashi Yamanaka,Naoyuki Kamatani,Ryo Yamada,Yusuke Nakamura,Kazuhiko Yamamoto +18 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the NF-κB pathway plays a role in pathogenesis and would be a rational target for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rheumatoid arthritis: a risk factor for deep venous thrombosis after total knee arthroplasty? Comparative study with osteoarthritis
TL;DR: The present study revealed that the incidence of DVT following TKA was significantly lower in RA patients than in those with OA, and may allow a prophylactic regimen for venous thromboembolism in patients with RA to be reconsidered.
Journal ArticleDOI
PADI4 and HLA-DRB1 are genetic risks for radiographic progression in RA patients, independent of ACPA status: results from the IORRA cohort study.
Taku Suzuki,Katsunori Ikari,Koichiro Yano,Eisuke Inoue,Yoshiaki Toyama,Atsuo Taniguchi,Hisashi Yamanaka,Shigeki Momohara +7 more
TL;DR: It is found that PADI4 risk allele and HLA-DRB1 shared epitope are independent genetic risks for radiographic progression in Japanese rheumatoid arthritis patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Elastase from polymorphonuclear leukocyte in articular cartilage and synovial fluids of patients with rheumatoid arthritis
TL;DR: Gelatinolitic activity was shown to be mainly due to PMN elastase, and found to be highest in cartilage and synovia in RA joints, and it is suggested that PMNElastase may play a significant role in RA disease.
