Defects generation in single-walled carbon nanotubes induced by soft X-ray illumination

TL;DR: In this article, the defect generation in single-walled carbon nanotubes induced by soft X-rays from a synchrotron radiation source was investigated by in-situ C 1s soft X -ray absorption and recombination emission as well as ex-Situ micro Raman scattering spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI

Orbital Angular Momentum Induced Spin Polarization of 2D Metallic Bands

TL;DR: The present results deepen the understanding of the physics arising from spin-orbit coupling in atomic-layered materials with consequences for spintronic devices and the physics of the superconducting state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photocarrier-injected electronic structure of VO2∕TiO2:Nb

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of photocarrier injection on the electronic structure of VO2∕TiO2:Nb thin films using photoemission spectroscopy was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

One-dimensional metallic surface states of Pt-induced atomic nanowires on Ge(0 0 1).

TL;DR: Four one-dimensional metallic surface states of platinum-induced atomic nanowires on a germanium (0 0 1) surface were studied by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) and one of the newly-found two bands is a quasi-one-dimensional state and is split into two due to the Rashba effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic structure of a Pt(111)Ge surface alloy and adsorbed CO

TL;DR: In this paper, angle-integrated photoemission spectra are observed for Pt(111) and a Pt(1) Ge surface alloy, showing d band filling compared with those for pure Pt(2) Ge.
