Journal ArticleDOI
Possible field-induced quantum criticality in Ce3Pd20Si6
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of detailed low-temperature specific heat and electrical resistivity measurements taken in magnetic fields up to 14 T were presented, with the purpose of shedding light on the complex low temperature behavior that was alluded to in previous literature reports on this compound.
Journal ArticleDOI
Superconductivity in an extreme strange metal.
D. H. Nguyen,Andrey Sidorenko,Mathieu Taupin,Georg Knebel,Gérard Lapertot,E. Schuberth,Silke Paschen +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used electrical resistivity measurements into the micro-Kelvin regime to discover superconductivity condensing out of an extreme strange metal state with linear resistivity over 3.5 orders of magnitude in temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of PCA on thermoelectric properties and hardness of nanostructured Ba-Cu-Si clathrates
A. Zolriasatein,A. Zolriasatein,Xinlin Yan,Ernst Bauer,Peter Rogl,Ali Shokuhfar,Silke Paschen +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of a process control agent (PCA) for ball milling, Stearic acid (SA), on the nano-and microstructure and thermoelectric properties of type-I clathrates in the Ba-Cu-Si system, which are promising candidates for TE applications, is shown.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hall effect in the ferromagnet UGe2
TL;DR: In this article, the Hall coefficient and magnetization were measured in the 2-300 K range and in magnetic fields up to 7 T. The results support the view that in the ferromagnetic state of the material, there are two electron subsets differing much as to the localization character.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suppression of vacancies boosts thermoelectric performance in type-I clathrates
Xinlin Yan,M. Ikeda,Long Zhang,Ernst Bauer,Peter Rogl,Gerald Giester,Andrey Prokofiev,Silke Paschen +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, structural and thermoelectric properties of single crystalline Ba8(Cu,Ga,Ge,v)46, where v denotes a vacancy, were investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction on crystals without Ga.
