Journal ArticleDOI

Spin gap in CeFe4Sb12 studied by heat capacity and inelastic neutron scattering

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the magnetic properties of the skutterudite compound ''Ce'' and showed that the signal originates from inelastic excitations across two hybridization bands near the Fermi energy, referred to as a spin gap.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum critical point in the Sc-doped itinerant antiferromagnet TiAu

TL;DR: In this article, an experimental realization of a quantum critical point in an itinerant antiferromagnet composed of nonmagnetic constituents, TiAu, was presented, where the doping amount of 0.13 ± 0.01 was achieved with minimal disorder effects, accompanied by an enhancement of spin fluctuations, as indicated by the diverging Sommerfeld coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermoelectric properties of meltspun Ba8Cu5(Si,Ge,Sn)41 clathrates

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of Sn substitution for Ge on the thermoelectric properties of Ba8Cu5Si6(Ge,Sn)35 samples prepared by the fast and economic melt-spinning technique and compared with a sample series prepared using the conventional synthesis method of high-frequency melting and hot pressing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural and Thermoelectric Properties of Bi1−xSbx Nanoalloys Prepared by Mechanical Alloying

TL;DR: In this paper, a strong dependence of the thermoelectric properties on the composition was found, which deviates from the behavior of single crystals, indicating a significant change in the band structure of the material induced by the reduced size.
