p53 Activation by Knockdown Technologies
Mara E. Robu,Jon D. Larson,Aidas Nasevicius,Aidas Nasevicius,Soraya Beiraghi,Charles Brenner,Steven A. Farber,Stephen C. Ekker +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown here that MO off-targeting results in induction of a p53-dependent cell death pathway, and p53 inhibition could potentially be applicable to other systems to suppress off- target effects caused by other knockdown technologies.
Journal ArticleDOI
WNT5A mutations in patients with autosomal dominant Robinow syndrome.
Anthony D. Person,Soraya Beiraghi,Christine M. Sieben,Spencer Hermanson,Ann N. Neumann,Mara E. Robu,J. Robert Schleiffarth,Charles J. Billington,Hans van Bokhoven,Jeannette A.M. Hoogeboom,Juliana F. Mazzeu,Anna Petryk,Lisa A. Schimmenti,Han G. Brunner,Stephen C. Ekker,Jamie L. Lohr +15 more
TL;DR: It is shown that two different missense mutations in WNT5A, which result in amino acid substitutions of highly conserved cysteines, are associated with autosomal dominant Robinow syndrome, and that proper formation and growth of these structures is sensitive to variations in W NT5A function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of radiation and chemotherapy on risk of dental abnormalities: a report from the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study.
Sue C. Kaste,Pamela Goodman,Wendy M. Leisenring,Marilyn Stovall,Robert J. Hayashi,Mark W. Yeazel,Soraya Beiraghi,Melissa M. Hudson,Charles A. Sklar,Leslie L. Robison,K. Scott Baker +10 more
TL;DR: The current study was performed to describe frequencies and risk factors of altered oral health and odontogenesis in childhood cancer survivors.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of a companion animal on distress in children undergoing dental procedures
Le Ann Havener,Lisa Gentes,Barbara Thaler,Mary Erickson Megel,Mara M. Baun,Frank A. Driscoll,Soraya Beiraghi,Sangeeta Agrawal +7 more
TL;DR: Evaluating the effects of a companion animal (dog) on physiologic arousal and behavioral distress among children undergoing a dental procedure revealed that for children who initially verbalized distress on arrival at the clinic, the presence of the dog decreased physiologic aroused during the time the child was on the dental table waiting for the dentist to arrive.
Journal Article
The Wand vs. traditional injection: a comparison of pain related behaviors.
TL;DR: Wand injections can deliver proper anesthesia, utilizing one palatal injection site, while significantly reducing the likelihood of disruptive behaviors during the initial moments of an injection.
