Journal ArticleDOI
Plerixafor and G-CSF versus placebo and G-CSF to mobilize hematopoietic stem cells for autologous stem cell transplantation in patients with multiple myeloma
John F. DiPersio,Edward A. Stadtmauer,Auayporn Nademanee,Ivana N. Micallef,Patrick J. Stiff,Jonathan L. Kaufman,Richard T. Maziarz,Chitra Hosing,Stefan Fruehauf,Mitchell E. Horwitz,Dennis L. Cooper,Gary Bridger,Gary Calandra +12 more
TL;DR: Plerixafor and G- CSF were well tolerated, and significantly more patients collected the optimal CD34(+) cell/kg target for transplantation earlier compared with G-CSF alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synergistic activity of the new ABL-specific tyrosine kinase inhibitor STI571 and chemotherapeutic drugs on BCR-ABL-positive chronic myelogenous leukemia cells.
TL;DR: In vitro data with CML blast crisis cell lines strongly suggest that combinations of STI571 with cytarabine or etoposide be rapidly considered for clinical testing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamics of BCR-ABL mRNA expression in first-line therapy of chronic myelogenous leukemia patients with imatinib or interferon alpha/ara-C.
Martin C. Müller,Norbert Gattermann,T. Lahaye,Michael W. Deininger,A. Berndt,Stefan Fruehauf,Andreas Neubauer,Thomas Fischer,D. K. Hossfeld,F. Schneller,Stefan W. Krause,Christoph Nerl,Herbert G. Sayer,Oliver G. Ottmann,Cornelius F. Waller,Walter E. Aulitzky,P. le Coutre,Mathias Freund,Kirsten Merx,Peter Paschka,Heiko Konig,Sebastian Kreil,Ute Berger,Harald Gschaidmeier,Ruediger Hehlmann,Andreas Hochhaus +25 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that treatment with imatinib in newly diagnosed CML patients is associated with a rapid decrease of BCR-ABL transcript levels, and nested PCR may reveal residual BCR/ABL transcripts in samples that are negative by real-time PCR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and Optimization of a Real-Time Quantitative PCR-Based Method for the Titration of AAV-2 Vector Stocks
Marlon R. Veldwijk,Marlon R. Veldwijk,Julian Topaly,Stephanie Laufs,Ulrich R. Hengge,Frederik Wenz,W. Jens Zeller,Stefan Fruehauf +7 more
TL;DR: An optimized real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR) titration assay is established to determine viral titers and compared it with a functional green fluorescent protein (GFP)-based titration method to establish low variability.
Journal ArticleDOI
A combination of granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and plerixafor mobilizes more primitive peripheral blood progenitor cells than G-CSF alone: results of a European phase II study.
Stefan Fruehauf,Marlon R. Veldwijk,Timon Seeger,Mario Schubert,Stephanie Laufs,Julian Topaly,Patrick Wuchter,Falk Dillmann,Volker Eckstein,Frederik Wenz,Hartmut Goldschmidt,Anthony D. Ho,Gary Calandra +12 more
TL;DR: An additional application of AMD3100 to a standard G-CSF mobilization regimen leads to a significant increase in primitive PBPC with high repopulation capacity.
