Common and distinct patterns of grey-matter volume alteration in major depression and bipolar disorder: evidence from voxel-based meta-analysis
Toby Wise,Joaquim Radua,Joaquim Radua,Esther Via,Narcís Cardoner,Osamu Abe,Tracey M. Adams,Francesco Amico,Yuqi Cheng,James H. Cole,C De Azevedo Marques Périco,Daniel P. Dickstein,Tom F.D. Farrow,Thomas Frodl,Thomas Frodl,Gregory R. Wagner,Ian H. Gotlib,Oliver Gruber,Byung Joo Ham,Dominic Job,Matthew J. Kempton,M J Kim,P C M P Koolschijn,Gin S Malhi,David Mataix-Cols,David Mataix-Cols,Andrew M. McIntosh,Allison C. Nugent,John T. O'Brien,John T. O'Brien,Stefania Pezzoli,Stefania Pezzoli,Mary L. Fu,Anthony J. Cleare,Danilo Arnone +45 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that MDD and BD are characterised by both common and distinct patterns of grey-matter volume changes, which has the potential to inform the development of diagnostic biomarkers for these conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meta-analysis of regional white matter volume in bipolar disorder with replication in an independent sample using coordinates, T-maps, and individual MRI data.
Stefania Pezzoli,Louise Emsell,Sarah W. Yip,Danai Dima,Panteleimon Giannakopoulos,Mojtaba Zarei,Stefania Tognin,Danilo Arnone,Anthony A. James,Sven Haller,Sophia Frangou,Guy M. Goodwin,Colm McDonald,Matthew J. Kempton +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a meta-analysis of voxel-based morphometry (VBM) data is performed using published coordinates, however this method is limited since it ignores non-significant data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural and Functional Neuroimaging of Visual Hallucinations in Lewy Body Disease: A Systematic Literature Review.
TL;DR: The main structural neuroimaging results on VH in LBD revealed grey matter loss in frontal areas in patients with dementia, and parietal and occipito-temporal regions in PD without dementia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frontal and subcortical contribution to visual hallucinations in dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s disease
TL;DR: Frontal and striatal GM atrophy may contribute to the emergence of VH in DLB, which may be fostered by the more severe attention deficits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targeted memory reactivation in REM but not SWS selectively reduces arousal responses
Isabel C Hutchison,Stefania Pezzoli,Stefania Pezzoli,Stefania Pezzoli,Maria-Efstratia Tsimpanouli,Mahmoud E. A. Abdellahi,Gorana Pobric,Johann Hulleman,Penelope A. Lewis,Penelope A. Lewis +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the effect of targeted memory reactivation on subjective arousal in both rapid-eye movement sleep (REM) and slow-wave sleep (SWS) and found that TMR during REM but not SWS significantly decreased subjective arousal.
