Can we detect ecosystem critical transitions and signals of changing resilience from paleo‐ecological records?

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a protocol to simulate paleolimnological records undergoing regime shifts or critical transitions to alternate states and tested, using both simulated and real core records, how mixing and compression affected their ability to detect past abrupt shifts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zooplankton and the total phosphorus – chlorophyll a relationship: hierarchical Bayesian analysis of measurement error

TL;DR: It is found consistent effects of total zooplankton biomass, but not zoopLankton length, on chlorophyll a, and this finding does not appear to be related to the higher precision with which total zoopsense was measured in this study, but rather to ecological factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Local perspectives and global archetypes in scenario development

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the contributions of local perspectives and global archetypes to scenario development through a case study of a regional scenario project, Yahara 2070, in Wisconsin, USA.
