Read,Bracie Watson,Mark S. Guyer +38 more
TL;DR: The ultimate objective of the HMP is to demonstrate that there are opportunities to improve human health through monitoring or manipulation of the human microbiome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Workshop on treatment of and postexposure prophylaxis for Burkholderia pseudomallei and B. mallei Infection, 2010.
Rebecca Lipsitz,Susan Garges,Rosemarie Aurigemma,Prasith Baccam,David D. Blaney,Allen C. Cheng,Bart J. Currie,David A. B. Dance,Jay E. Gee,Joseph Larsen,Direk Limmathurotsakul,Meredith G. Morrow,Robert Norton,Elizabeth O’Mara,Sharon J. Peacock,Nicki Pesik,L. Paige Rogers,Herbert P. Schweizer,Ivo Steinmetz,Gladys Tan,Patrick Tan,W. Joost Wiersinga,Vanaporn Wuthiekanun,Theresa L. Smith +23 more
TL;DR: Recommendations for postexposure prophylaxis against and treatment for Burkholderia pseudomallei and B. mallei infections, which cause melioidosis and glanders, are developed and further development and wide distribution of rapid diagnostic assays were recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
CRP-DNA complexes: inducing the A-like form in the binding sites with an extended central spacer
Valery I. Ivanov,Lucy E. Minchenkova,Lucy E. Minchenkova,Boris K. Chernov,Boris K. Chernov,Peter McPhie,Peter McPhie,Sangryeol Ryu,Sangryeol Ryu,Susan Garges,Susan Garges,Ann M. Barber,Ann M. Barber,Victor B. Zhurkin,Victor B. Zhurkin,Sankar Adhya,Sankar Adhya +16 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that a mutual adaptation between CRP and binding sites by local untwisting and a B-->A-like transition in the DNA is of general importance and may occur in other protein-DNA complexes, such as the complex of RNA polymerase with promoter DNA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Promoter switch in the Escherichia coli pts operon.
Sangryeol Ryu,Susan Garges +1 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the two different regulatory mechanisms (one through CRP.cAMP, the other through glucose) are working together for fine control of pts expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detecting the DNA kinks in a DNA-CRP complex in solution with iodine-125 radioprobing.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that 125I radioprobing can be used to study fine conformational changes of DNA within DNA–protein complexes within CRP–DNA complex.
