Rain, winds and haze during the Huygens probe's descent to Titan's surface
Martin G. Tomasko,Brent A. Archinal,Tammy L. Becker,Bruno Bézard,M. Bushroe,M. Combes,D. Cook,Athena Coustenis,C. de Bergh,L. E. Dafoe,Lyn R. Doose,Sylvain Douté,A. Eibl,S. Engel,Fritz Gliem,B. Grieger,K. Holso,Elpitha Howington-Kraus,Erich Karkoschka,H. U. Keller,Randolph L. Kirk,R. Kramm,Michael Küppers,Peter Lanagan,E. Lellouch,Mark T. Lemmon,Jonathan I. Lunine,Jonathan I. Lunine,Elisabeth A. McFarlane,John E. Moores,G. M. Prout,Bashar Rizk,Mark R. Rosiek,P. Rueffer,Stefan Schröder,Bernard Schmitt,C. See,Paul S. Smith,Laurence A. Soderblom,Nicolas Thomas,Robert West +40 more
TL;DR: Spectra and high-resolution images obtained by the Huygens Probe Descent Imager/Spectral Radiometer instrument in Titan's atmosphere reveal the traces of once flowing liquid, and like Earth, the brighter highland regions show complex systems draining into flat, dark lowlands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Composition, Physical State, and Distribution of Ices at the Surface of Triton
Eric Quirico,Sylvain Douté,Bernard Schmitt,Catherine de Bergh,Dale P. Cruikshank,Tobias Owen,Thomas R. Geballe,Ted L. Roush +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the analysis of near-infrared observations of the icy surface of Triton, recorded on 1995 September 7, with the cooled grating spectrometer CGS4 at the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (Mauna Kea, HI), was performed in two steps.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observations of the south seasonal cap of Mars during recession in 2004–2006 by the OMEGA visible/near-infrared imaging spectrometer on board Mars Express
Yves Langevin,Jean-Pierre Bibring,Franck Montmessin,François Forget,Mathieu Vincendon,Sylvain Douté,Francois Poulet,Brigitte Gondet +7 more
TL;DR: The OMEGA visible/near-infrared imaging spectrometer on board Mars Express has observed the southern seasonal cap in late 2004 and 2005 and then in the summer of 2006 as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Summer evolution of the north polar cap of Mars as observed by OMEGA/Mars Express.
Yves Langevin,François Poulet,Jean-Pierre Bibring,Bernard Schmitt,Sylvain Douté,Brigitte Gondet +5 more
TL;DR: The Observatoire pour la Mine, l'Eau, les Glaces, et l'Activite (OMEGA) visible-infrared imaging spectrometer extensively observed regions of Mars with latitudes above 70°N in late 2004 and the extent of water ice at the surface and the size of ice grains were monitored as a function of time.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the decomposition of Mars hyperspectral data by ICA and Bayesian positive source separation
Saïd Moussaoui,Hafrun Hauksdottir,Frédéric Schmidt,Christian Jutten,Jocelyn Chanussot,David Brie,Sylvain Douté,Jon Atli Benediktsson +7 more
TL;DR: A combination of spatial ICA with spectral Bayesian positive source (BPSS) with a rough classification of pixels is proposed, which allows selection of small, but relevant, number of pixels for the component extraction and consequently the endmember classification.
