TL;DR: In this paper, high-statistics measurements of the basic double-pionic fusion reactions pn = d pi(0)pi(0), pn > 0, pn < 0, and pp = 0.

TL;DR: In this article, the Roper resonance is sensed only indirectly via complex partial-wave analyses and the authors find indications for its excitation in the invariant nπ+ mass spectrum of the pp → npπ+ reaction at M ≈ 1360 MeV with a width of ≈ 150 MeV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Examination of the nature of the ABC effect
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss possible explanations of the ABC effect and their consequences for the internal structure of the d ⁎ dibaryon, and examine and review a variety of proposed explanations, add a new hypothesis and confront all of them with the experimental results.

Examination of the Nature of the ABC Effect
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss possible explanations of the ABC effect and their consequences for the internal structure of the $d^*$ dibaryon, and show that these explanations are not satisfactory.
Journal ArticleDOI
From CELSIUS to COSY: on the observation of a dibaryon resonance
TL;DR: In this paper, the ABC effect in double-pionic fusion reactions was investigated and the trace to a narrow dibaryon resonance with about 80 MeV below the nominal mass of the conventional system was traced.
