Implementation of a Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Media Processor for AVC Decoder
TL;DR: This paper describes the design case of a media processor targeting at H.264 decoder and other video tasks based on the ADRES template, and obtains C-programmed real-time H. 264/AVC CIF decoding at 50 MHz.
Book ChapterDOI
Low power coarse-grained reconfigurable instruction set processor
F. Barat,Murali Jayapala,Tom Vander Aa,Rudy Lauwereins,Rudy Lauwereins,Geert Deconinck,Henk Corporaal +6 more
TL;DR: A novel coarse-grained reconfigurable processor is presented and its power consumption is studied using a power model derived from Wattch to show that it can achieve on average 2.5x the performance of a RISC processor with an 18% increase in energy consumption.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Architectures for cognitive radio testbeds and demonstrators — An overview
Oscar Gustafsson,Kiarash Amiri,Dennis Andersson,Anton Blad,Christian Bonnet,Joseph R. Cavallaro,Jeroen Declerck,Antoine Dejonghe,Patrik Eliardsson,Miguel Glasse,Aawatif Hayar,Lieven Hollevoet,Chris Hunter,Madhura Joshi,Florian Kaltenberger,Raymond Knopp,Khanh Le,Zoran Miljanic,Patrick Murphy,Frederik Naessens,Navid Nikaein,Dominique Nussbaum,Renaud Pacalet,Praveen Raghavan,Ashutosh Sabharwal,Onkar Sarode,Predrag Spasojevic,Yang Sun,Hugo M. Tullberg,Tom Vander Aa,Liesbet Van der Perre,Michelle Wetterwald,Michael Wu +32 more
TL;DR: An overview of five of the available platforms and their characteristics are given, and the features and performance measures of the different systems are compared.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Power breakdown analysis for a heterogeneous NoC platform running a video application
Andy Lambrechts,Praveen Raghavan,Anthony Leroy,Guillermo Talavera,Tom Vander Aa,Murali Jayapala,Francky Catthoor,Diederik Verkest,Geert Deconinck,Henk Corporaal,Frédéric Robert,Jordi Carrabina +11 more
TL;DR: This power assessment of a realistic heterogeneous network on chip platform including processors, network and data/instruction memory hierarchy, running a video processing chain from camera to display shows that global interconnect is not that critical for a well-optimized application mapping.
Journal ArticleDOI
Industry-scale application and evaluation of deep learning for drug target prediction
Noé Sturm,Andreas Mayr,Thanh Le Van,Vladimir Chupakhin,Hugo Ceulemans,Joerg Wegner,Jose-Felipe Golib-Dzib,Nina Jeliazkova,Yves Vandriessche,Stanislav Böhm,Vojtech Cima,Jan Martinovič,Nigel Greene,Tom Vander Aa,Thomas J. Ashby,Sepp Hochreiter,Ola Engkvist,Günter Klambauer,Hongming Chen +18 more
TL;DR: This is the first large-scale study evaluating the potential of machine learning and especially deep learning directly at the level of industry-scale settings and moreover investigating the transferability of publicly learned target prediction models towards industrial bioactivity prediction pipelines.
