Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative neuropsychiatry: White matter abnormalities in children and adolescents with schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder
TL;DR: In this paper, the potholes were found to be significantly larger in patients with early-onset bipolar affective disorder compared to the early-onset schizophrenia group, whereas children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder did not show widespread differences in FA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Choosing a Surgeon: An Exploratory Study of Factors Influencing Selection of a Gender Affirmation Surgeon
TL;DR: Choosing a surgeon to perform gender-affirming surgery is a challenging process, but patients are quite rational in their decision-making, and providing strategies and resources for surgical selection can improve patient satisfaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
DREAM : A Toolbox to Decode Rhythms of the Brain System.
Zhu-Qing Gong,Peng Gao,Chao Jiang,Xiu-Xia Xing,Hao-Ming Dong,Tonya White,F. Xavier Castellanos,Hai-Fang Li,Xi-Nian Zuo +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a toolbox with a graphical user interface for decoding rhythms of the brain system (DREAM) is presented, which is used to investigate frequency-specific performance of both spontaneous brain activity and neurobehavioral (in-scanner head motion) oscillations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Working Memory Training Following Neonatal Critical Illness: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Raisa M. Schiller,Marlous J. Madderom,Joost van Rosmalen,Arno van Heijst,Ivo de Blaauw,Elisabeth M. W. J. Utens,André B. Rietman,Frank C. Verhulst,Dick Tibboel,Tonya White,Tonya White,Hanneke IJsselstijn +11 more
TL;DR: Working memory improvements after Cogmed Working Memory Training disappeared 1 year post training in neonatal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and/or congenital diaphragmatic hernia survivors, and may be beneficial for survivors with visuospatial memory deficits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic variation in GAD1 is associated with cortical thickness in the parahippocampal gyrus
Stefan Brauns,Randy L. Gollub,Esther Walton,Esther Walton,Johanna Hass,Michael N. Smolka,Tonya White,Thomas H. Wassink,Vince D. Calhoun,Vince D. Calhoun,Stefan Ehrlich,Stefan Ehrlich +11 more
TL;DR: A robust reduction of cortical thickness in the left parahippocampal gyrus (PHG) in G allele homozygotes of GAD1 rs3749034 is shown, pointing to the importance of the GABAergic system in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia.
