Journal ArticleDOI

Cryo-EM Structure of K+-Bound hERG Channel Complexed with the Blocker Astemizole.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors obtained the 3.5-A density map of a potassium-bound hERG channel complexed with astemizole, a well-known hERG inhibitor that increases risk of potentially fatal arrhythmia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural and Functional Analyses of the Tridomain-Nonribosomal Peptide Synthetase FmoA3 for 4-Methyloxazoline Ring Formation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determined the head-to-tail homodimeric structures of FmoA3 by X-ray crystallography ( apo-form, with adenylyl-imidodiphosphate and α -methyl- l -seryl-AMP) and performed site-directed mutagenesis experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-conventional octameric structure of C-phycocyanin.

TL;DR: In this article, the structural characterization of non-conventional octameric C-phycocyanin (CPC) was reported for the first time, and an unusual dimeric state, observed via analytical ultracentrifugation, was postulated to be a key intermediate structure in the assemble of the previously unobserved octamer.

Size matters: optimal mask diameter and box size for single-particle cryogenic electron microscopy

TL;DR: Considering the defocus distributions of the datasets, merely optimizing the mask diameters and box sizes yielded meaningful resolution improvements for the reconstruction of < 200 kDa proteins using 200 kV cryo-EM.
