Journal ArticleDOI
Parametric study on the hydrodynamics and heat transfer along the riser of a pressurized circulating fluidized bed unit
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of particle size, solid inventory and operating pressure on bed hydrodynamics and heat transfer in a pressurized circulating fluidized bed has been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of Emulsified Palm Biodiesel as Pilot Fuel in a Biogas Run Dual Fuel Diesel Engine
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the influence of emulsified palm biodiesel as a pilot fuel in a biogas run dual fuel engine and found that with the presence of a microexplosion, emulsification of biodiesel can increase the magnitude of the peak cylinder pressure (PCP) which increases the expansion ratio and hence improves engine efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution and Progress in the Development of Savonius Wind Turbine Rotor Blades Profiles and Shapes
Nur Alom,Ujjwal K. Saha +1 more
TL;DR: The blade profiles and blade shapes of vertical-axis Savonius wind turbine rotors have undergone a series of changes over the past three decades as mentioned in this paper, and there is not a single piece of literature that gives a comprehensive and a systematic review of rotor blade profile and shape.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance evaluation of vent-augmented elliptical-bladed savonius rotors by numerical simulation and wind tunnel experiments
Nur Alom,Ujjwal K. Saha +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a vent-augmented elliptical-bladed Savonius rotor with a newly developed blade profile and an augmentation technique have been combined, and the results obtained are compared with those of non-vented and semicircular profiles.
Journal ArticleDOI
An inverse method for optimization of geometric parameters of a Savonius-style wind turbine
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an inverse methodology aided by the DE algorithm to simultaneously estimate and optimize geometric parameters of a semicircular-bladed Savonius Style wind turbine.
