Journal ArticleDOI
Switchable ferroelectric diode and photovoltaic effect in BiFeO3.
TL;DR: It is found that bulk electric conduction in ferroelectric monodomain BiFeO3 crystals is highly nonlinear and unidirectional.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intrinsic Charge Transport on the Surface of Organic Semiconductors
Vitaly Podzorov,Etienne Menard,A. Borissov,Valery Kiryukhin,John A. Rogers,Michael Gershenson +5 more
TL;DR: The air-gap field-effect technique enabled realization of the intrinsic (not limited by static disorder) polaronic transport on the surface of rubrene (C42H28) crystals over a wide temperature range.
Journal ArticleDOI
An X-ray-induced insulator–metal transition in a magnetoresistive manganite
Valery Kiryukhin,Diego Casa,John Hill,Bernhard Keimer,A. Vigliante,Y. Tomioka,Yoshinori Tokura +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that in one such compound, Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3, a transition from the insulating antiferromagnetic state to the metallic ferromagnetic states can be driven by illumination with X-rays at low temperatures (<40 K).
Journal ArticleDOI
Ferroelectricity in an ising chain magnet.
TL;DR: In this paper, the Ising spin chain magnet with an alternating charge order was found to have collinear-magnetism-driven ferroelectricity, which was attributed to the inversion symmetry breaking in the spin chain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of isomorphic Ir3+ and Ir4+ octamers and spin dimerization in the spinel CuIr2S4.
Paolo G. Radaelli,Yoichi Horibe,Yoichi Horibe,Yoichi Horibe,Matthias J. Gutmann,Hiroki Ishibashi,Hiroki Ishibashi,Cheng-Hsuan Chen,Richard M. Ibberson,Yasumasa Koyama,Yew San Hor,Valery Kiryukhin,Sang-Wook Cheong +12 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that CuIr2S4 undergoes a simultaneous charge-ordering and spin-dimerization transition—a rare phenomenon in three-dimensional compounds.
