Journal ArticleDOI
Nanoindentation of porous bulk and thin films of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3−δ
Journal ArticleDOI
Poly(γ-glutamic acid)/silica hybrids with calcium incorporated in the silica network by use of a calcium alkoxide precursor
Gowsihan Poologasundarampillai,Bobo Yu,Olga Tsigkou,Daming Wang,Frederik Romer,Vineet Bhakhri,Finn Giuliani,Molly M. Stevens,David S. McPhail,Mark E. Smith,Mark E. Smith,John V. Hanna,Julian R. Jones +12 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis for this study was that using calcium methoxyethoxide (CME) as the Ca source would allow Ca incorporation into the silicate component of the hybrid at room temperature, and the produced hybrids would have improved mechanical properties and controlled degradation compared with hybrids of calcium chloride (CaCl2), in which the Ca is not incorporated into thesilicate network.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of proton irradiation on the microstructural and mechanical property evolution of inconel X-750 with high concentrations of helium
C.D. Judge,C.D. Judge,Vineet Bhakhri,Vineet Bhakhri,Zhijie Jiao,Robert J. Klassen,Gary S. Was,Gianluigi A. Botton,Malcolm Griffiths +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the microstructural evolution and mechanical hardening of Ni-based alloys with and without helium was characterized using advanced microscopy and nano-indentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stabilization of boron carbide via silicon doping.
John E. Proctor,John E. Proctor,Vineet Bhakhri,R. Hao,Timothy J. Prior,Thomas Scheler,Eugene Gregoryanz,Manish Chhowalla,F. Giulani +8 more
TL;DR: The level of amorphization under static non-hydrostatic pressure is drastically reduced by the silicon doping, and this raises the possibility of doping the boron carbide to eliminate this polytype.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of high-temperature plastic deformation using instrumented microindentation tests. Part IThe deformation of three aluminum alloys at 473 K to 833 K
Vineet Bhakhri,Robert J. Klassen +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, constant load indentation tests were performed on wrought-2024, P/M/2024 and wrought-1100 aluminum alloys to assess the capability of the microindentation testing technique for measuring the high-temperature deformation rate controlling parameters of these alloys.
